For this July’s blog post I will be sharing an example of how a private investigator helps child custody battle directly with a recent case study as an example.
Delta 74 Private Investigations were hired for a child protection investigation to assist a father prove that his child was living with a man who he should not be living with. Along the way we proved much more!
Before turning to Delta 74 Private Investigations our client had approached almost every other service related to children you could think of; social services, the police, the local council and others who were mentioned to us.
None were of any real help, at all. Our clients pleading to remove his child from his mother’s care fell on deaf ears.
When our client approached us the objective was simple: Collect evidence to prove or disprove that said man is living in the same house as our client’s child.
This is a common request and something we have a process and structure for so we deployed.
Our usual structure did not fit the location due to the street layout so we had to use other methods which caused a slight delay to the investigation as we had to wait for the materials to arrive from Asia.
We did get evidence but it wasn’t enough for what our client needed.
From the initial plan we had been able to produce a better plan and as soon as the equipment arrived we dived into it. We deployed a remote camera looking at the property which would record 24/7 so we can build a full picture of the movements from the property and see exactly who is coming and going along with who stays the full night.
Important note here, this is completely situation dependant and we can only deploy a remote camera onto public land in which we could ourselves conduct surveillance from.
Once the camera had done it’s job we retrieved the camera and the footage review began.
For our client’s this part is always the hardest as it can take a few days depending on the size of the project.
In this instance though we were able to quickly prove that the man was indeed living with his child. At the same time he had a romantic relationship with his child’s mother which was part of the contention. Alongside that, we gathered evidence that our client’s child was being ill treated too. The child was swore at multiple times and left locked out of the property for hours on end whilst the mother and the man drove away.
Our evidence is only an investment of our clients money if it is useable when needed.
For this case it was presented in court and caused huge waves with the appointed judge who completely sided with our client and I can thankfully say the wheels are fully in motion for our client to get full custody of his child, again.
At the same time, ripples have been made following our evidence with the local authority who have been said to have neglected the interests of the child and not conducting their work properly! This is following being told repeatedly that the child was being ill-treated and neglected.
This investigation took weeks to complete and for our client did not feel like plain sailing but this is where a good working relationship between our client and ourselves pays huge dividends.
